Due to the current situation of existing restrictions in terms of mobility and social gatherings, the club opted for a hybrid event in which Augmented Reality played a crucial role for the visualisation of data in real time.
The World Confederation of Supporters Clubs of FC Barcelona held the 41st World Congress of Supporters Clubs on 28 February. The communication agency in charge of the event “Botey Produccions de Disseny” relied on Framemov to design and implement augmented realities in real-time.
Our team designed a total of 20 augmented reality elements. Several typographic displays, 4 animated charts, a book, a smartphone and a globe where to place the different actions that have been carried out during the confinement.
For this, we used the Notch VFX real-time rendering engine. This software allows us to work in real-time in such a way that we can place the 3D elements in space, applying realistic shadows and reflections. Once the elements were placed, they were sent to Barça TV’s production control via the NDI protocol.
Framemov was in charge of the design and implementation of the contents in collaboration with Área Técnica, the company in charge of production, sound and lighting. All this under the direction of Botey Produccions de Disseny.
The event, which lasted approximately 4 hours, was held in the Auditori 1899 and was broadcast in its entirety on BarçaTV+ and also by streaming on the Confederation’s website and on its Facebook profile in streaming for more than 5,000 connections and in three languages (Spanish, Catalan and English).
