We increasingly hear the term immersive experience, but what does it really mean?
Immersive experiences aim to transport users into environments where they feel part of a different reality, breaking their perception of everyday space. This can be achieved through technology, such as virtual reality headsets, or physical installations integrating sound, light, and projections that completely surround the viewer. At Framemov, we specialize in creating immersive experiences that transform how the public interacts with spaces and events.
Types of Immersive Experiences
Immersive experiences can take many forms, each designed to transport viewers into entirely new worlds. Spaces where projections adapt in real-time to attendees’ movements, multisensory environments where light, sound, and technology create immersive atmospheres—the possibilities are endless. These experiences can be applied to artistic exhibitions, cultural installations, or large-scale events, transforming them into spaces where interaction and emotion completely alter public perception.
- Projections and Mapping: Spaces brought to life through projected images on surfaces, transforming architecture into dynamic settings.
- Interactive Installations: Places where every step, movement, or sound generates a real-time response, merging digital and physical worlds.
- Table Mapping: Tables have become ideal surfaces for immersive experiences. Through projections, they transform into narrative and visual surfaces that surprise and engage viewers.
- Virtual Reality (VR): A leap into fully immersive digital worlds using VR headsets, where users can explore and move freely.
- Augmented Reality (AR): A digital overlay on physical reality, enhancing our environment with interactive visual elements.
How Immersive Experiences Elevate Events and Spaces
Immersive experiences have evolved due to technological advancements that allow for 360º projections, motion sensors, and reactive digital environments. In art and event spaces, attendees can now interact with their environment in entirely new ways, modifying the experience in real-time through gestures or moving through virtual spaces that respond directly to their presence. In corporate events, these technologies enhance audience engagement, strengthen brand identity, and transform traditional presentations into memorable experiences, encouraging active participation with key messages.
Immersive Experience Projects at Framemov
At Framemov, we take immersive experiences to another level by combining technology and audiovisual creativity. Our projects showcase how interactivity, projections, and artificial intelligence can transform spaces and events into unique, unforgettable experiences. Here are some standout projects that have elevated immersion in corporate and artistic contexts:
- Inmersiva Experience: In collaboration with Palacio Neptuno in Madrid, we created an immersive experience where digital design and 360° projections completely enveloped attendees. Using Unreal Engine 5 and Notch VFX, we generated visual scenarios like journeys through the cosmos, with moving stars and nebulae, or a digital art gallery where artworks came to life through light and movement. Completing the experience was a table mapping, displaying synchronized visual content on tables that complemented the event’s narrative.
- GORE UK: We transformed this corporate event into an immersive journey that transported attendees to Ancient Greece through three key moments. The experience began with video mapping on the exterior facade, narrating the evolution of Gore’s medical technology through immersive images and mythological references. This audiovisual projection marked the evening’s opening and prepared guests for a unique dining experience. Inside, guests enjoyed an immersive banquet environment with projections recreating temples, gardens, and scenes inspired by Greek aesthetics, fully immersing them in a magical evening. To conclude, an interactive AI-powered photo booth transformed their photos into portraits of Greek gods and heroes, offering a unique souvenir that enhanced the experience.
- Banco Popular 2024: For Banco Popular’s corporate forum, we designed an immersive 360° installation with large-format LED screens projecting digital energy graphics aligned with the event’s visual identity. We used Unreal Engine 5 to create virtual reality previews, allowing anticipation of how content would integrate into the space. As a centerpiece, we developed an immersive video reinforcing brand values and emotionally connecting with attendees.
Spaces Making Immersive Experiences a Reality
Barcelona and Madrid host innovative spaces bringing immersive experiences to life, blending art and technology to offer unique sensory encounters.
- IDEAL Centre d’Arts Digitals in Barcelona: Located in the former La Plata neighborhood, IDEAL has become a benchmark in digital culture. This center features cutting-edge technology enabling immersive experiences through audiovisual projections, augmented reality, virtual reality, and holography, fostering a new relationship between art and society.
- NOMAD Madrid: Offers itinerant proposals where immersion is experienced through enveloping digital installations. Utilizing video mapping, digital scenography, and interactive content, it transforms each space into a unique sensory narrative.
The Future of Immersive Experiences
Human curiosity and the need for exploration have driven the advancement of immersive technology. Recreating ancient stories or exploring digital landscapes of the future is now possible through immersion. Entertainment boundaries are expanding, becoming tools for education, tourism, communication, and more. Immersive experiences will continue expanding our connection with the digital world, and at Framemov, we are passionate about discovering new ways to play with perception and interaction, creating spaces where imagination knows no limits.
